Makes: About ½ cup | Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Baker & Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp Baker & Olive Fig Dark Balsamic
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp honey, optional
- Pinch of sea salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
Directions
Add everything to a jar, cover and shake until combined.
Try it on: Arugula or mixed greens with sliced pear, goat cheese, toasted pecans and grilled chicken.
2. Fig & Blood Orange Roasted Carrots
Serves: 4 | Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb carrots, peeled
- 2 tbsp Baker & Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil
- Salt & pepper
- 2 tbsp Baker & Olive Fig Dark Balsamic
- Crumbled goat cheese
- Chopped pistachios
- Fresh parsley
Directions
Toss carrots with Blood Orange Olive Oil, salt and pepper. Roast at 425°F for 20–25 minutes or until tender and caramelized.
Finish with Fig Dark Balsamic, goat cheese, pistachios and fresh parsley.
3. Fig & Blood Orange Grilled Chicken
Serves: 4 | Time: 30 minutes + marinating
Ingredients
- 1½ lbs chicken breasts or thighs
- ¼ cup Baker & Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp Baker & Olive Fig Dark Balsamic
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary
- Salt & pepper
Directions
Whisk together the marinade ingredients. Reserve a portion before it touches the raw chicken for finishing.
Marinate chicken for 30 minutes to 2 hours. Grill until the chicken reaches 165°F, then drizzle with the reserved marinade before serving.
4. Fig & Blood Orange Bourbon Smash
Makes: 1 cocktail | Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon
- ½ oz Baker & Olive Fig Dark Balsamic
- ½ oz fresh orange juice
- ¼ oz simple syrup, optional
- ¼ tsp Baker & Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil
- Ice
- Orange slice for garnish
Directions
Add bourbon, fig balsamic, orange juice, simple syrup and Blood Orange Olive Oil to a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously, strain over fresh ice and garnish with an orange slice.
For a mocktail: Skip the bourbon and top with sparkling water.
5. Blood Orange Olive Oil Brownies with Fig Balsamic Berries
Serves: 8–10
For this one, use your favorite brownie recipe or boxed brownie mix.
Prepare the brownies, replacing the vegetable oil called for in the recipe with an equal amount of Baker & Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil.
While they bake, toss:
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 1–2 tbsp Baker & Olive Fig Dark Balsamic
Let the berries sit for about 10 minutes.
Serve the brownies topped with the balsamic berries and, if you're feeling indulgent, a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
